How come I can use my iPhone on any network in Chile but not when I travel abroad?

All iPhones from Chile (Movistar, Entel, and Claro) are country unlocked. This means you can use your cell phone with any network provider in the country but will need to unlock it if you want to use it internationally.

If I unlock my iPhone from Entel will it work on every network in the world?

Yes. Once you've unlocked your iPhone from Entel you’ll be able to use it on any network in the world as long as it has not been blacklisted due to loss, theft or unpaid bill.

very nice and smooth experience

very nice and smooth experience. First top to TIM Brasil didnt work because TIM is bad provider. The money stayed in between. So I asked DoctorSIM to change the top up to VIVO (another number of mine) and the money were delivered in 5 minutes to VIVO number, so I could use the data and so on.
